Tools for Self Reliance are a small UK based charity
working to help relieve poverty in Africa. Their
approach to development is to focus on the artisan
sector in rural communities. They have a small number of
staff and hundreds of volunteers who help to collect and
refurbish tools, and who campaign against the causes of
poverty. We are actively involved in this charity giving
our time and financial support. Our representative to
this charity is Brian Loades

Charity Meals for the Scouts project in Gambia
A Big Continental Breakfast is planned to raise
funds for the local scouts project. The Scouts volunteer their time each year to
rebuild, paint, and upgrade local buildings for the use
of young people in Gambia.

Carnival
For several years we have
supported this annual event, by selling strawberries and cream. This has
proved very popular. All the proceeds
are donated
to the local scout group
Carol singing in the community
Every year during December we enjoy carol singing at the
local Residential Home, encouraging the residents to
sing along with us, also at the Garden Centre, and in
local hostelries. Our piano accordionist accompanies us.
